On Behalf of | Apr 20, 2018 | Divorce, Firm News

It is important to understand that your appearance and the assumptions people make based on your appearance tend to contribute to whether people believe you are a credible witness.

You must dress professionally and in business casual attire. Clothes should not appear too worn out.

Men should wear a dark/neutral colored suit, if available. They can also wear slacks, a button down shirt, dress shoes, belt, and dark socks.

On the other hand, women should a conservative dress or pantsuit. They can also wear slacks or a knee-high skirtand a dress shirt.

The following are clothes you should NOT wear to divorce court:

  • T-shirts
  • Tanks
  • Shorts, jeans, and short dresses
  • Sandals or sneakers
  • Anything that appears too revealing or tight
  • Clothes that haven’t been washed or ironed
  • Gym attire
  • Clothes that you’d wear on a night out
